Erin Davis
Erin worked closely with the School of Nursing at Nipissing University as a member of the Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) leadership team assisting the academic entity in becoming a designated BPSO through the RNAO. Erin graduated from Western University receiving a Master of Nursing in Leadership, and recently completed her Primary Healthcare Nurse Practitioner Diploma through Laurentian University. She continues to demonstrate passionate in nursing research and has had the opportunity to be involved in publications with a focus on nursing education. Erin hopes to continue participating in additional research initiatives and programs.
Dr. Sandra Goldsworthy PhD, MSc, RN, CNCC(C), CMSN(C), CCSN
Dr. Sandra Goldsworthy is a nurse education leader who is internationally recognized as a simulation and critical care expert, researcher and author. She is the recipient of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation in Learning (INACSL) Excellence in Research Award and the Canadian Nurses’ Association Order of Merit in Education. Sandra has over 70 peer reviewed publications, including 12 books, and frequently presents her research nationally and internationally.
Dr. Goldsworthy is currently a Professor and Chair of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Mount Royal University. In addition, she held a Research Professorship in Simulation from 2015-2019 at the University of Calgary. Dr. Goldsworthy was previously an inaugural Teaching Scholar at the University of Calgary and a Teaching Chair of Online and Virtual Learning at Nipissing University. Sandra holds three national certifications: Canadian Nurses Association credentials in Critical Care and Medical Surgical Nursing as well as Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) Canadian Certified Nurse Simulation Educator credential (CCNSE). She is a member of several national and international committees including her roles as Director of Education for the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses Association and Co-chair of the CASN Simulation Interest Group.
Dr. Goldsworthy is passionate about improving patient safety and provider preparation through simulation. Her research program focuses on the impact of simulation in building competence in recognition and response to the deteriorating patient, reduction of medication errors and improving health team communication competencies through interprofessional simulation education.
Dr. Amalia Silva Galleguillos, PhD
Associate Professor of the Department of Nursing, University of Chile. BPSO Direct and BPSO Academic Host Chile. With over 28 years of academic experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, she has held significant management roles at the University of Chile, including Deputy Director and Director of the School of Nursing. She was the inaugural director of the Nursing Department at the University of Chile and pursued further education attending the EBCP Evidence Based Practice Workshop, at McMaster University in Canada. Currently, she is leading the GBPC RNAO implementation program across various universities in Chile, aiming to enhance healthcare practices and education nationwide.

Baiba Zarins, RN, PhD
Baiba’s commitment to innovation in health care education and professional development is evidenced in her role within University Health Network (UHN) as Program Manager of an innovative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Scholar-Practitioner Program in collaboration with Nipissing University and partnering Toronto academic health care delivery organizations. The second-degree compressed program prides itself utilizing the tenants of narrative inquiry and cognitive apprentice pedagogies to foster practice ready nursing graduates. Within her role, Baiba facilitates the development, operations and support of all stakeholder organizations, program learners and faculty within a shared governance model.
Concurrent collaborations include Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) and Fellowship support with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
Baiba attained her doctorate degree in Human and Organizational Systems in 2016, with her experiential research thesis examining narrative inquiry based nursing education curricula through the reflective journey of program students. Research project activities aim to align local, provincial and international education evaluative measures for the nursing profession.
Her extensive nursing career provided progressive opportunity within point of care clinical, educational and administrative capacities spanning both acute and community care public sectors. Service to the community is most noted in her long-standing role within the Board of Directors of Kristus Darzs Latvian Home, an ethnic based long term care facility located in Woodbridge, Ontario, within which Baiba served as the Board Chair from 2007-2020.
Baiba is a contributing author in several health care journals, publications and reference texts. She holds cross-appointments to Nipissing University, North Bay Ontario, and most recently, invited international collaboration with the Riga Strazdins University (RSU) Faculty of Nursing, Riga, Latvia.
